Of course, it's old. I know she's outdated, but I picked her up anyhow and filled her with "newer" guts. Problem is simple.. Despite the addition of an i7 980x ( in-expertly OC'd to 4.0) and a 1070 gtx 8gb, I STILL suffer on the game I'm attempting to play. Ark:Survival Evolved.

Is it possible the 1070 is being throttled by the PCiE 2 Slot I'm limited to on the Mobo? Or am I just expecting too much outta' the 1070? (I'm shooting for EPIC settings all around with a DSR of 1.5)

Specs: Win 10 x64, i7980x, GTX 1070 8g, 10g ram.

At 10g? xD I mean, you may be right. They recently upped the "suggested" to 16, but I monitor the usage and I never see it get above 5g. MSI may be giving me false data maybe?

Or do you mean the actual "speed" of the ram, like 1333 ect?

I bought about half of it at 1600, but the rest is only rated for 1333 I believe.. My OC, bios restricted, only allows for Bclk tweaking, not the core multiplier which is supposedly unlocked for this CPU. Could that be the issue? If I just bought better RAM, say,to replace the 1333 I have with 1600 like I added already?

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Wrong. If it was the stock CPU I'd agree with you about the bottleneck, fortunately I upgraded, as previously stated. Not to mention, 1366 LGA socket of my mobo doesn't support the I5 I think, or at least isn't listed as compatible.
