orry im not really good at these things if there's grammar errors please forgive me

So i bought a new stick of ram 8GB corsair value select 2666mhz to be exact

i bought it to match my other single 8GB corsair 2666mhz stick

I put it in my system & then started my PC after waiting for a bit it didn't post so i switched off my PC changed the dimm slot it was in & then started it again.... nope it didn't post so I removed the new stick & booted it with my older one & that worked fine.

I decided to test my new ram on my brothers Asus A320 board & it worked fine his PC booted up correctly & registered the ram.

I updated my bios & then tried again to no avail. I also reset the CMOS

i checked if the ram was seated properly

i've also noticed that the light on the motherboard just stays orange & when its working fine it goes green then white

I sent the ram back to the store & got a replacement the new stick also prevents my system from booting i tried it on my brothers PC & that works fine.....

I tried my 2x4 GB sticks ram & that worked fine on my system

does anyone know how i could fix this problem

( edit i forgot to add that my monitor wont display anything while the new stick is in)

Specs
Asus B350-F Rog Strix
Ryzen 1600

Any help is appreciated.

Solution
None of the kits you listed are listed on the QVL so untested. This is not to say they would not work however you take a chance if they have not been tested. Could be the QVL has not been updated as many combinations of DIMM kits are released each month.

Something wrong with what I recommended? Corsair CMK16GX4M2A2666C16 are a (2x8) 16GB at 2666MHz and available from PriceSpy.
Corsair are excellent DIMMs and should work fine.
Hi Joseph :)

Your problem is undoubtedly a RAM mismatch from your description.

There can be latency differences during manufacture and manufacturers warn you of this, even if the mix has exactly the same specs. Always best to buy a binned kit.

Yes sometimes they do work but most times they don't and especially with Ryzen.

Its strange how both sticks work fine with my brothers 2400G & A320 though could it be a ram setting on my motherboard instead ?

The RAM modules may work in another system and the system may boot but issues can arise during peak demand.
If you have Bios confidence then yes a little Bios tweaking may or may not work. There is no guarantee as stated and it's best to get a single kit that are factory matched.

The new stick doesn't boot even when its by itself do you think its incompatible with ryzen ??

Each MB manufacturer tests RAM kits and lists those tested in their QVL.
As said before, Ryzen is picky and especially with OC RAM however, improved Bios updates have helped so it's best to update to the latest version which is 4024.

Download the memory ROG-STRIX-B350-F-GAMING_Memory_QVL from here: https://www.asus.com/au/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-B350-F-GAMING/HelpDesk_QVL/

Check the Part No of your RAM and that indeed it is listed on the QVL. If listed then they should work and if not then try a kit that are listed.

I might be looking at the wrong page or maybe its not there
here's some pictures of the ram maybe you might be able to find it ?

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1LiwKQ9xr82MP3zV1SbTYlWTPTaTp0r0t

the top stick works fine

Your CMV8GX4M1A2666C18 RAM modules are sold as a single 8GB module and NOT listed on the MB QVL, therefore have NOT been tested. What your are trying to do by mixing another module (even of the same spec) is not a good idea.
Corsair CMK16GX4M2A2666C16 are a (2x8) 16GB at 2666MHz, are listed on the QVL and should work fine.
Yes your going to pay more as the modules you have are value RAM and obviously not working well together.

Please read the following article for better understanding : https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?57038-Don%92t-combine-memory-kits!-The-meat-and-potatoes-overview

"Its strange how both sticks work fine with my brothers 2400G & A320"

Mismatched RAM modules are tolerated by some motherboards but not tolerated by others --- you just got unlucky.
Happened to me a while back -- exchanged a module three times but still no cigar -- so I gave up and bought a matched pair to replace what I had - -- success.
