Ok Ill post the system specs first to get that out of the way

AMD ryzen 5 2600
Asus Strix b450F gaming II (Bios 5003)
Ram 4 x8gb Corsair Vengenace LPX 3200mhz (all 4 are Cmk16bx4m2b3200c16)
Western digital 1tb black sn750 m.2 SSD
Samsung 2tb QVO 2.5 inch storage drive
Evga GTX 1660 super
Seasonic SIII 550watt power supply

OK the problem is my ram speeds even if i enable D.o.c.p in bios it will not boot up, but if I change the speed to 2800 it will boot but is unstable in appilications in windows (IE cinnabench) currently set to 2666mhz and running so far not sure about stability yet. I do understand that the cpu has a rated max ram speed of 2933 which id be happy with. Being as im a complete novice at understanding how to set ram manually properly i havent touched the ram timing or voltages any help would be appreciated

Chances are the CPU is holding back the ram speeds. Bumping up to a 5000 series CPU will help, although with mixed ram it will be a roll of the dice. Regardless, your motherboard can handle a newer CPU , should make for an impressive bump on performance.

belated but follow up response i replaced the cpu with a Ryzen 5 5600x changed ram to another set enitrely because it still wouldnt boot past 2933 , still same problem with a whole other set of ram i tried bumping voltage up nothing different first set and sets were corsair vengeance lpx 3200mhz 16 gb kit second set was a 32gb gskill trident z , i went as far as testing a cheap set of teamgroup ram same result ive concluded the motherboard doesnt support the ram speeds .i mean im ok with 2933 but come on Asus ..... my cheap msi a320 motherboard boots these same sets of ram at all full speeds. and thats a a320 pro max im running a ryzen 5 3600 on

The same thing happens to me with the same motherboard, ryzen 2700x, 4x8GB 3200Mhz or 2x16GB Corsair 3600Mhz cannot pass any 2666Mhz. Even putting only 1 memory, they can't get past 2666Mhz...

Tomorrow the Ryzen 7 5800X will arrive but... I don't know if it will be due to the motherboard or the power supply.
