So i can't find anyone with my exact same issue:
  • I can't update the bios (for a 5600x)
  • Asus B550F gaming (non wifi)
  • USB is 2.0 16gb formatted FAT32
  • Bios v1202
  • Tried other versions: 1801, 1601,1004.
  • Renamed the file properly and I'm %100 sure it corresponds to my mobo model
  • No other files in the usb
  • Nothing connected to mobo except front panel connectors, audio and a couple fans. No drives, cpu, gpu, ram, nothing.
  • Red light is lit below 4pin power to the left of the usual 8pin power, it's always on whenever I plug in power to the motherboard and it stays on. I cant find what this means in the manual (rog logo also lights up)
  • I press the Bios Flashback button for 3 secs, it's all normal but stays on and never goes off which would indicate the bios update was successful
I'm currently trying other usb drives a usb2.0 32gb and a 3.0 64gb. In the mean time any help is incredibly appreciated

Solution
I managed to solve it and it was pretty stupid. SO, in case anyone else runs into the same lack of clear information I ran into.

For asus B550 motherboards that support BIOS flashback without a cpu installed and via USB drive, the led that lights up when you start flashing the BIOS it's supposed to keep flashing until it turns off by itself, on the other hand if it stays still that means it's not working and you may need to try with another usb.

This is not specified in the manual like this, it only tells you to wait for the light to turn off by itself indicating the process is complete but it never mentions that it will be flashing all the time during that process. It also says that if the light flashes 5 times...
I made sure it's not a beta version, you might have read the 1212 version which is beta but the one previous to that, the 1202 is not. I called Asus and i was supposed to try to update the bios with ram and cpu installed. Did that and still same result the light won't turn off even after 10 minutes. I also tried other two usb drives with no success.
I think the motherboard might be faulty and I'm gonna have to return it.

It also says that if the light flashes 5 times and then stays still then there's an issue, the detail is that the light only flashes 3 times irl.

Call it nit picking, but in the middle of panicking and calling Asus support wich is absolutely useless, I thought that the 3 blink then still light meant something else not specified in the manual. Asus representatives where clueless about what i was talking about even tho I told them my cpu, mobo, ram and they still had not figured out what i was trying to do, they never corrected me in what i thought was the motherboard not working as intended.

I will avoid Asus in the future not for the quality of the product but because of the bad customer support and the lack of detail in their documentation.
