Computer will not sleep or shut down, it can restart no problem but in order to turn it off I need to press the power button physically on the tower. I have an Asus Viii hero Alpha MoBo, a EVGA 1080 FTW GPU i7 6700k CPU and a Corsair RM1000 PSU. I've recently read about a Asus bios bug and resetting cmos. anyone have any other information on this? do i need to physically remove the battery or can I just push the cmos button on the back of my PC to reset bios? Will it actually fix it? this is a new bug after updating my bios and my GPU drivers the issue happened the same day I'm not sure which the issue is but i've manually deleted any Geforce drivers and the issue fixed itself for about a month now the issue is back. so still not 100% sure if the issue is GPU related or Bios related.

Capture.PNG
this shows it as being fully compatible

It's compatible enough to run you system, but it may not be compatible with the power states necessary for sleep states. Did you disable any power states in the bios for overclocking?

i didnt touch anything in bios after upgrading mobo and cpu i left it where it was from when I had an older Maximus vi hero and i7 4770k

Rekamaj, I owe you an apology for not fully reading your initial post. My bad, I didn't realize you couldn't even shut off your computer.

I can turn it off if i hold the power button down or switch the PSU switch off, but anything on the PC in the "Shut down or sign out" area wont work. But i checked my power states and everything is normal or disabled like they should be.

Assuming Windows 10: Right click on the start button > Power Options > Change when the computer sleeps > Change advanced power settings

I know you said you checked the power states, not sure if above is where you went or not. Worth a shot if you haven't checked there yet.

You also noted you manually deleted GPU drivers. Did you use DDU [Display Driver Uninstaller] program? Might be worth a shot to download/run that and reinstall the drivers. Would probably want to download the latest Geforce driver ahead of time before running DDU so you're ready to go right away.

okay so I tried that and it didnt work. the PC will turn off right after a hard reset, but after an hour of use it wont sleep or turn off unless i push the button or turn PSU off
