I'm pretty sure my charger has nothing to do with this. It looks completely fine to me. My ASUS laptop won't turn on unless the charger's plugged in. And when I plug it in, the led light indicator for charging won't light up. It's been maybe for a week now that it's like this. And when I turn the laptop on, its still staying on 0%. Please help me. I'm a student who really needs her laptop to be fixed coz I've got many projects piled up 🙁

Solution
You cannot tell if the charger is bad by looking at, but you can test it using a multimeter. Or another cheap way to know is to either get another ASUS charger or buy a universal one and see if it charges the battery.
If it doesn't then it is either a bad battery or something else like a bad power board or motherboard.

Solution
Any luck? I just got my NEW asus w/ built-in yesterday and set it up and am having this same issue. ac is powering it but not charging it. 0% avail, plugged in, not charging.

Does it have removable battery? check the connection
If it new. contact asus, or just return it for a replacement

Thanks, but that takes time and I need it for work now...not to mention the time I've already spent on setting it up. Hoping to find a fix at home vs returning it to start all over. Non-removable battery.

Sound like a hardware issue. either get it replace now or pay it later

Hi, did you ever get this fixed? I've had the same problem now for ages on my Asus laptop, can't figure out what is going on with it.
