I'm trying to download the BIOS software etc. for my motherboard(PRIME X570-P). It appears to be using a .CAP file and I don't have software that will open it.

Any thoughts on how to open this type of file?

The .cap file is supposed to be copied to a FAT32 formatted USB thumb drive. You then have reboot and enter bios to access ASUS EZ-Flash, which can read the .cap files and update the BIOS / UEFI to the BIOS version you have downladed.
