News Asus China compensates and assists owners with damaged GPUs due to PCIe Q-Release Slim mechanism — confirms revision on the way

This is pretty much the expected resolution given that it's obviously a faulty design. There is some amusement attached though given the standard "it's fine" initial statements from Asus.

I'm still surprised this made it through the testing process. The positive is that the problem should have limited impact for the majority of users.

Much ado and all that. Asus should promise to replace any graphics card that stops functioning as a result of normal use of their connector (not excessive use and intentional abuse) and be done with it. The video of some idiot kid putting the card in and out more than 60 times I would consider excessive and obvious intentional abuse.
