I got a pc with an asus commando mb a few days ago and i wanted to try overclocking. I tried to move up the fsb from 266 to 350/375, the pc just shuts off, and then doesnt post
I tried again with 1.3v cpu/north bridge and 1.9v ram. It was still the same. I actually managed to get it to post at 350 fsb, but it froze in windows . I restarted the cmos and with stock settings it works fine. I tried to downgrade to 1605 BIOS from 1901, it was still the same
Could it be the ram? I know what this board could handle way more, some review sites claim 520mhz fsb... i cant get 375
The complete specs are
Asus ROG commando motherboard, socket 775, intel P965 chipset
Intel Core 2 Duo E6420, 2.13ghz 4mb l2, 1066 mhz fsb
Geil 4x1gb 800mhz cl4 ram
Chieftec 450w psu

you can't just up the fsb because some site claim 520mhz.
you have the same ram/cpu/psu as the site?
no, but this is an rog motherboard... It should do more. i had a gigabyte motherboard with the same chipset but worse vrm and it ocd fine from 1.8ghz to 2.7... this wont do anything at all
