i asked a question the other day relative to Raid on the Crosshair V Formula and got my answer rather quickly, and shortly later found another problem... im trying to have a SSD for OS, two 500gb hard drives in raid 1, and a 1TB hard drive for whatever... i also have a disk drive... so, i configured sata ports 1-4 to raid, went to install windows 8.1 on the ssd and windows didnt recognize it...i know this ssd works because it had 8.1 on it, so i tried the command prompt in windows 8.1 installer to clear the ssd, it didnt show up... so... i switched the sata configuration back to ahci, booted up onto a different hard drive and cleared the ssd, then tried the raid configuration again, no avail... so i came to the conclusion that the raid controller on my mother board doesnt recognize my samsung 850 evo ssd... how do i go around this without putting the ssd in sata ports 5 or 6 in IDE mode? can i put the ssd on the ASM1061 port with the OS and still get the full performance?
Sorry if this is in the wrong place, thanks in advance...

ALSO!
forgot to ask, legacy rom or uefi driver for board sata raid rom? thanks!

Solution
For RAID, you have to install Windows on the SSD with SATA set to RAID in BIOS and when configuring the RAID array setting the SSD as non-RAID. This would erase all data on HDDs and SSD, so backup if needed.
