So I recently put together my first PC (this included an ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z motherboard) and for the first night everything worked seamlessly as far as I could tell (but I am not smart enough to know any better) my motherboard even came up with a control center kinda thing for my headset.

But the next day I boot up and load up a game. The problem I ran into was my headset wasn't working (Turtle beachs). I had them plugged into the front panel headphone jack, nothing worked. I tried plugging them directly into the motherboard, still nothing worked. I even tried different heaphones and going into the BIOS. But i cant find the problem.

Someone please help if i need to replace the motherboard i dont have long before my RMA time is up.

Solution
run malware and virus scan..boot off boot disk run memtest.. in the bios make sure your running in standard speed and ram running xmp profile and the audio chipset turned on. if it not turned on because your running another sound card it wont show up.
web check in the audio control panel that relteck speakers are the default audio output and not amd or nvidia sound.
in the bios lok to see that the audio chipset turned on. also look under device manager for any missing drivers. (also try a set of speakers to see if the headset is the issue).

my head phones dont show up as devices. i cant access my Realtek HD audio manager. when i tell it to show the icon on the taskbar it doesnt show up. and now im having another problem with programs not opening like games, realtek audio manager and such a sometimes windows freezes and i have to close it with task manager. i have everything on my ssd whats going on?!
