Question Asus Crosshair VIII Hero (x570) - works only with 2 sticks of RAM?

Hi there,

first of all my specs:
CPU: Ryzen 9 3900x
MB: Asus Crosshair VIII Hero
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 64GB (4 x 16GB) CL16 3200
GPU: RTX 2080 Ti
PSU: Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 11 (1000 W)
Cooling: Asus Ryujin 360 AIO
Storage: Corsair MP600 (1x 1TB / 1x 2TB)

My problem:

The system only runs stable when using only 2 out of the 4 ram sticks. When I use all 4 of them, prime95 (blend) lasts ~ 30 mins before the PC shuts down completely without any sort of warning/bluescreen. Also when using all 4 sticks and I enable D.O.C.P, prime95 last maybe 1-2 minutes before it shuts down.

When using only 2 sticks (no matter which combination out of the 4), I can enable D.O.C.P and the system is stable. Now this doesn't really make any sense to me :/
Memtest also showed no errors, so ram seems to be fine.
It was also tested with a different ram kit, the same problem..

Does anyone has an idea what this could be? Maybe a defective motherboard?

Thanks a lot for reading!

Well the problems/shutdowns occured while beeing under stock settings, so 2133. Someone else mentioned that this is a known bug (WEHA) and should be fixed with AGESA 1003ABB .

@chelling were you ever able to find a way to get all 4 sticks running at their intended speeds with D.O.C.P enabled?

I'm running into this exact issue with G.SKILL Trident Z Neo (4 x 16GB) 288-Pin RGB DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3600 (F4-3600C18D-32GTZN) in the Crosshair VIII Hero. As you said, when using 2 sticks it's fine.
