i have posted on another thread about errors im getting with bsod and such. a reply said that my cpu and mobo arent compatible with each other. the mobo company says it can take 140w and the cpu goes up to 220w. the problem is that neweggs website for the cpu says that this motherboard i have i one of the few that actually support this cpu. Is this really the problem for my computer freezing up. i can run the system fine up until certain points of using heavier programs like games, or ableton live. I will run the computer for hours or have it on for over a day and it wont freeze but sometimes 10 min into using some of these programs i experience the crashing. i just want to rule out if this hardware combo is at fault. and how i can fix it.

*POSSIBLE SOLUTION* I have the Sabertooth 990fx r2.0 and the vishera 9590. I ditched the watercooler and purchased the CNPS10X Extreme cooler. The cooling improved and it STILL WOULD freeze. Sometimes 10 minutes in, sometimes on boot, sometimes after two LoL games. I currently have an up to date 8.1 OS installed. What we did was examine the PAGE FILE. It was set to AUTO by default. The size recommended was 5Gb's. It was at 2Gb's. We changed it to minimum of 16Gb's and max of 42Gb's. Extreme. I know.(We also have 16Gb's of ram). We also disabled ALL services. Like all of them. We found a button that said disable all and we did. No joke. We then enable only what the PC needed to boot and sit still, lol. After 72 hours of good idling, we...

So my question is if they are compatible how can the mobo only go up to 140w and the cpu go up to 220. how does that work? am i just loosing performace from my cpu with this mobo?

also whats the most accurate way of measuring the heat. im using cpu z now.

yes but that doesnt explain why the mobo company is saying one thing and yet its compatible. i want to know how a 140w board is compatible with a 220w cpu. why does newegg say it works. even though it obviusly states it only is compatible with 140w cpus. unless im missing a reason why its compatible. i feel mis informed.

im stressing my cpu right now running multiple programs and playing a game right now and its idling around 55 deg c. so i dont see any problem in my cooling. and my gpu is under 70 deg c. plus my case has 4 fan on top of that. cooling isnt an issue. The only thing that is hot is my psu cord that comes from the wall. as it should be since its a 1000w psu. and use most of that consumption

this is a cpu temp dump file. it crashed as not too long after creating the file. maybe 45 min after. depending on what im doing on the pc thats how frequent they can become. here the file

while not running anything my cpu temp will idle around 14-20 deg c. when playing games it can jump around between 55-65 deg c.

idk what your looking at but asus clearly states the mobo is max 140 and my cpu is max 220. so that doesnt explain why they are giving that information yet its still compatible? i dont mean to be a pain but it just doesnt make sense to me. i bought the thing bec it was listed as a compatible board but just judging from the max wattage allowed by the board. it makes me wonder.

After 72 hours of good idling, we enabled some little by little such as windows firewall and othere required to support web browsing. After a few days, we then enabled some more for homegroup support and P2P services. I will tell you NOT ALL of our services have been re-enabled but we have had NO issues yet. Still working on getting homegroup file sharing back up but we can web browse, use steam(gaming), play league, and have had no issues. It's been two weeks. I hope this helps. Solution
The FX9590 needs maybe 200watts tops under most use and normally uses less than 100w. The desktop graphic card (GPU) of any high-end card will need far more. A GTX970 will need 550watts all by its self. It simply dwarfs power needs of the FX9590. With a R9 380 and a FX9590: a good 600/650w power supply is all you need.
