Asus cusl2-c Need overclock advice

I just ordered an asus cusl2-c mobo 800eb chip, 256 cas-2 ram and ibm deskstar 30 gb ata 100 7200 rpm disk.. Any advice for settings (I intend to set up as jumperless) to get the max overclock\stability combo for this setup ?? On a limited budget now too need to replace my ati rage maxx vid card any ideas that make sense for this setup?

Since your processor is EB, make sure your RAM will run at at least 133mhz to even start thinking about good overclocking.

Thanx, my ram is 133 ram that is capable of cas-2 timing at this clock speed ( I paid extra for this as it is somewhat new). I had seen that sometimes 100 mhz ram needs to be knocked down to cas-3 to work with higher clock speeds thus reducing bandwidth and this drove my choice. Also the ram I ordered should be decent quality the supplier uses either toshiba or micron only for this grade ram

For the video card, try one of the Geforce 2 MXs. Make sure it's retail version though. And since your RAM looks pretty good, you should be able to hit the 140/150s. Just set the FSB higher bit by bit until it won't go anymore. BTW, why such a nickname? (just curiosity)

HMMM was thinking about the geforce 2 gt is the mx as good ? or near it ? ..how about voltage for the overclocking will I need to bump it also ya think?
As for the Lagger handle .. I'm an Airwarrior online flight sim junkie (there I'm known as Hg, CO of a squad known as the Sea Serpents in the Pacific theater, Lag or net delay is my worst enemy.. effects accuracy of my guns)

If you have the money to spend on it, by all means get the GTS, as that is a better card.

If your ram can handle it set your bus speed to 150 to get 900, or 166 to get to 1GHz. Keep an eye on processor temp and get Probe v2.12.07 to do it right. you should be able to do it provided your ram can take the strain, but you'll have to back the timing down to 2/3/2 or even 3/3/3 to get there.

I've been researching the ram issue some .. seems there is a break point where staying at 2/2/2 with a slower fsb yields better performance than going to 3's at a higher clock speed due to the lower memory bandwidth.. seems like kind of a seat of the pants thing to me at this point .. the ram I have on order is 133 cas-2 guaranteed to run 2/2/2 at 133 and I suspect I might be able to sustain that at 150 fsb.. I'll post here what kind of results I get at the various setting combinations... where might I obtain probe v.2.12.07?

Nice sys! Mine’s a lot the same it seems to be the fastest and most stable Oc’d to 858m 1.70v 143/143/35 CAS 2/2/2
Only thing is the *Ultra is running at 2X which I would like hack to 4X ?. But the sys needs no more help it works perf no matter what I force it to do!

Well thanx to all for the help .. parts arrived Thurs night and I was up by midnight .. finally got around to trying to O\C it and so far running my leadtek gf2-gts at 233/379 and my mobo\cpu at 140 140 35 p-3 800mhzEB @ 840 256mb cas-2 ram at 2/2/2 all solid as a rock.. will get a little more daring soon but software migration still a priority.
BTW got a yamaha cd-rw from hyper-microsystems for a nice price (244.00 inc 2 day fedex) and copied ms office 97 pro in less than 5 min. interestingly my old cd-rom from memorex (48x 29 bux at staples) extracts audio at 7.9x compared to the yamaha 2100ez cr-rw at 4x..
