I don't know the details of my desktop computer...I know it is Asus, 8GB, i7 processor, I have had it for about 18 months.
I had (2) 21" monitors hooked up to it, I decided to get rid of the duel monitors and just go with a 40" LED Samsung Smart TV.
I used a regular HDMI cable from the computer (HDMI Out) to the TV (HDMI/DVI)
Booted the computer, windows 7 screen came up then went away to a black screen, the screen on the TV said I had lost my connection then after about 2 minutes a blue screen came up with a bunch of text...something about shutting down to protect data...or something like that.
I can boot the computer in safe mode and it comes up fine.
The TV manual says optimal resolution is 1920x1080 but I don't have that option on my computer.
Does anyone have a suggestion on what could be the problem or what is going on?
Also could it be that the onboard video not be able to work with 40" LED tv?
Do I need to buy a new video card?
Thanks,
Steve
