Asus dk 4870 1gig ?

I recently purchased a 4870 dk from asus the question I have is why CCC is showing the current gpu clock at 500 when the default is 750 i havent messed with any clocks or overclocking or underclocking.
What gives?

2D mode. The GPU downclocks itself when idle or processing minimal graphics. It's a power saving feature.

When you run a graphic intensive application, the clock will ramp back up to normal.
