Hi

Today my computer that I've had since 2010 stopped booting up, while it was on the screen went black and i tried rebooting but nothing was showing up on the monitor.

My asus mobo was showing a solid red dram led which i can't recall seeing before.

Computer specs as followed:
ASUS P6X58DD
Intel i7 930
AMD HD7970
Patriot Extreme Performance Viper Series DDR3 6GB (3 x 2GB)
Corsair TX950W

I've taken the mobo out of the case as i saw other posts having troubles with it getting shortaged. I've tried every ram stick for themselves, taken out the GPU, disconnected everything except the two power cables for the motherboard (ram and gpu out)

You can see the dram led in bottom left corner.

I'm at a loss here and typing this from my phone. Any suggestions would be great, thank you all!

edit: I took out the battery that's on the mobo for a minute, and now the dram led light is on for only a couple seconds at startup, and i noticed the gpu fan is spinning quite slowly.

Solution
Try other GPU, or test the hd7970 works or not first.
Then try use the "Mem OK" button, when you test each ram stick. Check the manual page 2-24.
Or if you had the onboard speaker, check the error beep in the manual page 2-38. https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P6X58D_Premium/HelpDesk_Manual/
