ASUS DRW-24B1ST Disc Writing Issues

I'm attempting to burn a dual-layer DVD using my ASUS DRW-24B1ST on a Windows 7 based PC. However, when I insert writable media into the drive, windows will not recognize that I have inserted a disc into the drive.

I can insert CD Audio or Standard Program DVD/CDs (those already containing data) and Windows has no issue reading said data.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

There was something this past year with an issue/conflict with intel RST. If thats installed try uninstalling it as a test.
