ASUS DRW-24B1ST not recognized by Windows 10 or Device Manager

I upgraded my Windows 7-32bit standalone to Windows 10 and now my ASUS DRW-24B1ST is not recognized in Windows 10 or Device Manager. It is, however, recognized in the Bios. Is anyone able to help me? Thanks very much!

Double check both Sata connections , try another Sata cable.

Even though I knew that would bear no fruit, it was the first thing I tried. However it is no coincidence that this computer has been sailing along for over three years without the slightest issue with Windows 7 Ultimate and then the very day the upgrade to Windows 10 was performed the CD/DVD drive disappeared. Might have died , just a coincidence that it happened then.

I moved the drive to another computer and it functions fine. Mechanically it functions well on this machine too, it is just not recognized.
