So this is the driver I am using for my first build. Do I need any software to make it read/write the disks to instal Windows 7 and everything else I need? Will I need to purchase sofware for that? Please help!!

You can use the built-in burning capabilities of Windows, but it is really very limited. There are various other choices such as products like Nero and Roxio, or there's also the free CDBurnerXP (don't let the XP throw you, it'll work on Windows 7).

Guys, he just wants to know if he needs drivers for his DVD drive before he installs win 7. The answer is no, but if you want better control over DVD burning later you can get one of the listed programs.
