Hi all, I bought an asus dsl n12e router because my old router is broken.
I followed the instructions to configure it, but I have huge lag spikes for 4-5 seconds every 5-6 minutes of online gaming. I noticed with teamspeak that in those 4-5 seconds I have about 80% packet loss. Any clue?

Your first thing to try is to validate that you have the latest firmware.

Test by ping the router ip when you are getting the lag spikes. You could leave a ping running to the router all the time in background cmd window so you are sure to be testing when you detect the lag.

I suspect you will see no issue with the ping to the router. This then generally means you have a issue with your dsl line itself. Have not used that particular router but in general asus has very nice logs. You might see a interesting error message in the logs. Still I would verify that all your internal house wiring look ok. The nasty problem with changing DSL routers is some will tolerate a poor quality dsl connection better than others. I have never seen any review or test to show what routers are better but people complain all the time that all they did was swap their router and it now has problems.

Still it doesn't really matter only the ISP has the equipment to test telephone lines.
