Hi guys

I wonder if you can assist me, I just got my Asus modem today, and running a 10mb adsl uncapped line. Was using tp link but the wireless signal has degraded so opted to upgrade to Asus.

Unboxed and connected everything, connected via Ethernet and the qis(wizard) loaded. I entered my ISP’s details, userid and password that are definetly correct. The thing is the adsl light is green but the internet will not authenticate with my credentials, so I googled and read users having similar issues and opted to upgrade the firmware with the latest release from ASUS. Reset the modem and reconfigured, exact same issue adsl light but no internet. Seems to be a breakdown with authenticating with the ISP for some reason.

Plugged in my 3 year old tp link and used to same credentials and it connected in a heartbeat, internet access granted :)

Is this a common issue on ASUS routers? I love Asus and would love to get this little guy up and running if at all possible

Thanks in advance, will try any suggestions. Set up countless modems as I work as a IT technician but this things giving me a migraine

Solution
It appears this Asus router perhaps does not like special characters as both my isp passwords I reset had them, namely one password had an underscore and one had a dollar sign..changed password to “Name2018!” And it accepted and authenticated now :) tonight I game!!
