Question Asus dual 6750xt power cables

Solution
i have an 8 pin cable. it has 8 pins at the psu end and 8 pins at the gpu end. the second cable has 8 pin socket but two slots are blank(psu end) and a 6 pin plus a 2 pin at the gpu end.
The 6+2 is the standard cable for PCI-Express supplementary power. That's exactly what my EVGA 1000 G2 Supernova and OCZ Z1000M power supplies have. They set it up that way so that it can be used with either a 6-pin or 8-pin standard socket that video cards have.
No. Your card requires 2 8-pin connectors. Which PSU are you having ? So please connect all the PCie cables. If it says 8-PIN, then 6-PIN cable won't do the job.

EDIT:

I don't think I fully understood your question though. Can you be more clear ?

First of all, please mention the exact Model number and brand of your current PSU (power supply unit). Including full PC specs as well.

Modular cables are not universal on the PSU end, so the number of pins on the PSU end is completely irrelevant and only confuses the issue.

If the cables are plugged into the slots on the PSU designated for PCIE slot and you have the right connectors on the end that goes to the GPU, you can use the PSU with that GPU. At least theoretically; if it's a garbage quality PSU, you shouldn't, of course.

Since your card requires TWO 8-pin connectors, I doubt your current PSU is capable enough to power it. There is a single PCI-E cable with two connectors though.

But, the minimum required PSU is 750 Watts for your card. You are below the recommended specs to power up this GPU.

ok thank you. the second 8 pin cable labelled cpu was confusing. i wasnt aware some motherboards have two 8 pin connections.
Look in the manual that came with the power supply and see how many watts the dual end PCIE cable is rated for. If I remember right mine either said 225 or 250 if it says 250 you should be fine.

EDIT actually since the board can deliver 75 of the 250 watts you should be OK anyhow.l
