Hey guys, recently just completed a new build, trying to run my old two monitor setup.

My old GPU had two DVI outputs, so I was able to just use both of those to run it, however this ASUS gtx 1060 only has one DVI, which is needed for my main gaming monitor which can only display 144hz through DVI. My second monitor is a bit older, and it only has options for a VGA or DVI. I found an old DVI to HDMI cord, however it didn't work as I think it was for DVI output into HDMI input, and I was trying to use it the opposite way around. My question is, will this adapter work in conjunction with my DVI 144hz monitor already? I would be plugging it into the HDMI output of my GPU into the VGA of my other monitor.

Solution
this is outside of the GPU, so it should make no difference to anything but the monitor its connected to.
plug it into one of the external ports but yeah the motherboard.

Hey thanks for the advice! So, to make sure, this should work in a dual monitor setup with the DVI i already have in right now, using an hdmi output from my GPU? And the USB power i could just plug into my MOBO?
