Tom's search function at the top of the page can be helpful.

hi I've been overclocking my EVGA GTX 1060 3gb card. I've been running smooth at 2050MHz boost clock(+139MHz) and 4050MHz mem clock(+39MHz) fan speed 85% using EVGA Precision OCX overclocking software.

The OC utility isn't a big deal. Whether you are using EVGA PrecisionX, Asus GPU Tweak, MSI Afterburner other another utility it all comes down to clocks, voltages and cooling.

Similarly an OC tutorial can be applied to any PC friendly card. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UH4MU-ZKP1A can be used with any card. Finding your baseline, wall and then safe OC is the same for any card. They all have stock settings, limits and safe OC zones, to be more specific. The log can tell you a lot as can identical runthoughs of Demo benchmarks or dedicated benchmarking programs such as Firestrike and Unigine HEaven.

Be aware that not all silicone is equal. Jimmy next door has an identical PC and all our settings are the same. He can however apply an OC on the core clock which is 270MHz above mine. Some cards(or CPUs) OC better than others. Those aforementioned clock settings aren't guaranteed.

P.S. You should ask yourself why(apart from why climb the mountain) you're OC'ing. Does the OC provide a FPS boost? Is the 3GB of VRAM the limiting factor or is it the core clock, memory clock, power limit, voltage or is some other setting limiting you?

MSI AB can show you that in the game.

shows me I was using about 2.8GB of VRAM a couple years ago. I am routinely exceeding 3 GB these days with my 970 FTW.
