Alright so I am planning on buying a new GPU for my 3 years old custom PC, due to old one having a burn. Got a 600W PSU and Z87 Extreme4 ASRock motherboard, 16 gigs of ram and a i5-4590 cpu. I've came across the ASUS Dual RX 480 8GDDR5 gpu for a price, a bit too cheap for such a graphics card - like the same price I find 4 gigs cards etc, but its one has 8 gigs. Is there some kind of a catch or it's legit a good gpu? And yes, I know that RX 480 is a good gpu, but I talk about this certain model.

Solution
The Dual is one of the budget coolers but, provided you're not in a particularly limited airflow case, it's totally sufficient.

A 480 though? Assuming used, it's going to depend on price. Used, chances are good that card was mined on.

Oh so that's about it! The cooler. Well that's not a problem, I got a CPU cooler and 5x120mm fans (just upgraded) so the airflow should be just perfect. Also, It's a totally new GPU. Thank you for the quick answer!

What's the price? Take that price and compare it to what's available on the market. The reason for the super low price is due to AMD dropping the price of RX 580's upon the release of the 590. In turn, the 480's will be dirt cheap due to their age.

I did compare to a couple of other models, including from the Nvidia family, but they all have a bit lower specs. Still even though old, it seems to outperform a lot of gpus. The price is 400 bucks my currency, or around 230 american dollars.

What is your currency???

$230 USD equivalent seems high for an RX580.

$300 CAD / AUS, 190-230EUR, 190GBP seem to be going rates for brand new 8GB 580s.

That's $210-$260 USD equivalent range across the spectrum (AUS is ~$210 USD, high end of the Eurozone = ~$260 USD)

$300 for a 480 is ridiculously high, generally speaking. If you're in country with high import costs etc, that's different as selection/pricing options are limited but, at a glance, ~$300 equivalent seems really, really high for a 480.

Yeah, unfortunately I live in a country with high import costs, we have 20% addon the prices here in Bulgaria. I didn't knew that this would be a price for a brand new 580 though, here it'd be even more expensive. I thought maybe if I order from Amazon at the moment, as it has a good sale it'd be better, but how does international shipping work there? cause I only ever ordered from local websites.

Okay, if it fits your budget. The 480 would have been comparable to a GTX 960.
But 230 US dollars is not a good deal for a 480 in the US. Here, 580 and 1060 are around $200 - 240. And the 590 is 260.

Oh, the 380 was the 960 competitor. I guess NVidia didn't have a mid range when the 480 was released.

Awesome! Congrats! Enjoy!
