Hi,
I have the Asus 1000HE netbook that recently started to shut down by itself. Probably due to over heat. Last night, it did it again but this time I heard a spark or something. Now it woudln't even power up. None of the light indicators lights when I press power button. Using only the battery, blue light turns on and then die and nothing happening.
If I plug in the power adapter, it makes a short continuous clicking sound. It sounds similar to hard drive clicking sound but not as loud. It doesn't sound a normal desktop beeping sound.
If I press and hold the power button, it wouldn't make the clicking sound at all.
If I unplug the power adapter and use the battery only, it wouldn't make any clicking sound and wouldn't power on. But I do see a blue light turns on and then it stops there.
I tried replacing the ram thinking it might damage the memory chip with that sparking.
I disassemble it with the internal speaker disconnected. I couldn't pinpoint exactly where the clicking sound is coming from. At first, I thought it comes from the center where the CPU, GPU or might from power jack but not sure. If the internal speaker is disconnected, how can it make a clicking sound?
Do you think the sparking might have damage the fuse, cpu, power jack, etc? How do I diagnose which components is damage? And is there a fuse on the motherboard? I couldn't locate it.
Thanks for any help.
