As the title says, my laptop will not detect the additional memory I put in, it is a Samsung M471B5273BH1-CH9 DDR3-1333 SODIMM 4GB Notebook Memory module. Please help me.

I was right, your motherboard is set to work on 1600MHz RAM.

1333MHz can work on a 1600MHz motherboard, all you need to do is go in the bios and set a suitable multiplier to get memory frequency at 1333MHz for Samsung ram that you bought. However you won't get dual channel memory boost that your motherboard supprots because you bought different RAM than the one you have in your laptop already.

Example (take in consideration that this is for 1600MHz, so you want your voltage for 1333MHz)

Hi Proofy, I just went into my BIOS and I couldn't find a "memory/RAM" option.

Hmm could be locked... Ok try this:

1) leave only Samsung RAM in your laptop, remove other module. Start the laptop see if it works.
2) Now remove Samsung RAM and, this is important, stick your other module in the SAME ram slot where samsung ram was and start the laptop, see if it works properly

3) Repeat steps 1 and 2 but using ram slot that was UNUSED

4) report back with results

PS: you can leave laptop plastic where ram is open so you don't have to screw it off and on all the time while testing this

Hi Proofy, I forgot to mention that the RAM module that is clocked at 1600MHZ is soldered / integrated onto the board. So I don't think the steps you have given me will help :/
