So my monitor is a ASUS VG278Q and in the monitor settings I have Adaptive Sync/Free Sync and I must have that enabled to enable G sync in Geforce Experience. But my question is if I even need any of this and what should I enable and what I should not.
I do not notice screen tearing I play Rust a lot. Fps is 65 to 89ish

My specs are
ASUS rog strix RTX 2060 8GB
Ryzen 5 3600
ASUS VG278Q

Solution
Tearing can happen below or over the refresh rate, more so if over. Gsync/Adaptive sync helps smooth visuals by syncing frames to the monitor while reducing input lag that ordinary Vsync induces.

If you have Gsync enabled, this is why you're not seeing any tearing. It's good to leave on.
