Hi, i was a bit stupid and purchased a GTX780m from china as it was cheap (£60) thinking it would be a plug and play job in my Asus G750jw. Whilst it fits in the slot and functions as a D-GPU. In windows it appears only as a Microsoft Display Driver. From a range of sources online i know it is possible to use this card in the G750JW as the differences detween G750xx lines are minimal (some have done straight bios flashes between models). I believe i need assistance with getting a modded bios? Any one had any experience in this?

Sounds like you just need to update your drivers. Use DDU to do a complete uninstall of whatever drivers you have now and then install the 780M drivers from Nvidia.
Hi, thanks for the message. I have tried as you have suggested. Used DDU to do a complete driver uninstall and clean up via Safe Mode. Reinstalled using auto detect but no GPU found. Went into device manager and same story. Microsoft display adaptor. I believe it won't read without a bios flash.

Ah, I thought maybe because Windows was at least detecting a GPU it might not be a BIOS issue. Sorry, I have no idea how to mod the BIOS. Although according to this thread, what you actually need is modded drivers not BIOS: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/asus-g750jw-gtx-780m.826220/

Are you sure your power brick is up to the task? And did you upgrade the GPU cooler/heatsink as well?
