Question Asus g751j Laptop not holding charge.

Hello, my laptop won't charge past 1%. It will show that it is charging, but it won't hold a charge at all. It only works while it is plugged in and as soon as I unplug it, it shuts off. The laptop will turn off if I start browsing on the Internet or have multiple applications running. I bought a backpack for school that carried my laptop and put my charger in there, so the charger was in a spot it could have been damaged.

I'm trying to see if it's more then charger or the battery. I appreciate any feedback.

If your laptop works okay when it's connected to the mains through the AC adapter/charger, then I doubt there's anything wrong with the AC adapter/charger. More likely the rechargeable battery has probably reached the end of it's useful life and needs replacing. No way to be absolutely certain (ie by testing) that I know of, other members may know more about this.

Might be worth cleaning the battery contacts on the battery and inside the battery compartment.
