Hello guys!

Recently bought motherboard Asus rog strix gaming-e z490. It comes with a small fan 40mm. Manual states following: " When using high performance settings whilst overclocking, ensure to install the bundled fan onto the MOS fan holder".

After mounting, there is a problem (?) with Noctua NH U12A cooler fan. The rear one cannot fully cover the big metal radiator, so there is a offset ( 20mm to the front cover of the case) because of that small fan on motherboard. Is it ok for noctua fan be like that or do I need to remove small fan so the bigger one can fit ideally to radiator?

Thanks in advance!

Solution
Its fine if the fan is not fully on the cooler.
Not ideal, but its not that bad.

You can move the fan to the other side of the cooler if you want to.
Also, it's called a heatsink not a radiator. radiators usually refer to the watercooling radiators.

Thank you for reply.

noctua has 2 fans, so I thought it might be a problem that one of them is offset.

I don’t really understand the whole process. If it’s not critical for over clocking then I’ll leave it like this.
