Question ASUS GeForce RTX 2070 running at very low load temps

I recently put together a new build. It is running great and well above expectations. However, the idle gpu temps are normal but when I have the GPU overclocked and have been running it for 5+ hours playing games the temperature is still below 50 degrees. It will usually run at around 40-45. I was just wondering if this is normal or if i may not be getting a correct reading for the temp. Also I use afterburner to read the temp and overclock.

My specs are as listed:
CPU: Intel i7-9700k
GPU: ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 2070 OC
Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIC Z390-E GAMING
RAM: Corsair 16GB 3000mhz DDR4 (2 sticks) ->(32gb)

and what the gpu usage on that 5+ hours?
