I've been having some problems with my Asus laptop lately. The fan will run on high for seemingly no reason. I think it might be tied to the issues I've been having with ROG Gaming Center. It's no longer reading my CPU temps or clock speed, even though I can read them in the BIOS. I also can't get Intel XTU to run without crashing on startup. I know my cpu isn't overheating because I can feel the temperature through the thin case.

I would like to clarify that there are times where the fan performs as expected. It runs when gaming, and gradually slows down after closing any games, but it occasionally gets into a pattern of rather sporadic speed fluctuations, and doesn't really drop down to what I normally see as idle speeds until some random point where it does.

I've tried updating drivers and bios, but both are up to date. Tried reinstalling Gaming Center, but that didn't work.

My specs are Intel i7-7700HQ, GTX1060 6GB, and 16 GB of ram.
