ASUS Graphics Cards TURBO-GTX970-OC-4GD5

Hi everyone. I just joined and would like to ask everyones thoughts on upgrading to this card from my current power color r9 270. Also i would like to liquid cool this card in the future. What do you guys think of it for this price? and is liquid cooling a possibility? Thanks

yes, that is a nice card, and yes you can water cool it, but I am unsure of whether water cooling a 970 is worth the money, do you already have a loop?

instead of paying for a water cooling a 970 with a home made system, get a 980 hybrid from evga

I have a closed loop for my cpu, (fx 8320), but i plan to upgrade to a 9590 sometime soon and do a custom loop

hmm, that sounds like a good idea, for a 9590, but Is till feel that water cooling a 970 is just not really worth while. unless it is a really good one like a g1 gaming. that card appears to be a faster reference card.

well in general water cooling is rather pointless unless you really want that OC or want silence. but I really feel you could used the saved money by not watercooling and get the hybrid 980 which would perform much better.

One thing I forgot to mention is that the card will most likely be a gift from my grand parents

well, I wish my grandparents would do that. although I did get my 1978 RCA COSMAC VIP from my grandfather, but... as a 2015 gift it is more fun than useful...
if it is a gift, the I would I would most certainly take it, but water cooling it might not be worthwhile. perhaps get another 970 instead of water cooling?
