Asus gt 210 512 Mb vs 1Gb

My Graphics Card got dead 2 weeks before .
So for urgent i bought a new one but not for gaming ,
Instead for my full hd screen. But i think i got cheated, on cover it says ddr3 1G cache and on amazon(india) too it is 1gb ddr3.
But when i checked on windows it shows 512mb, i used many other apps too(same result).
and one more thing if it is 512mb will there any difference for video playback.
The memory usage never exceeds 70% while playing a film in full hd and full hd video in youtube.
and if i get a better card will the video play get any better .

I see no reason to get a different one now if it isnt only 70% usage, but regardless that GPU isn't very good, buy a 750ti once you get the money and that will last you a lot longer.

can u help me to clarify few things.
1. On my Graphics card 's cover its is nvidia geforce 210 asus silent ddr3 1G cache memory and when i load on windows it is showing 512 MB.
the retailer replaced the original one?
2. As u said if i get a better card like gtx740 or 750 will it make better in video playback in full hd.Not considering gaming .

1- chances are rhe card is a 512mb packed as a 1gb.
- contact amazon/payment method people (paypal/card etc) explain you ordered a 1gb card, and got sent a 512mb packaged as the 1gb, say youve xontacted the seller but no response, will spead it along, id call seems to be way faster than a written email support.
-theyll probs give credit to your account for the value paid, and tell you to keep the card.

2- if gaming isnt desired and only way to view videos in hd that card should be fine, fewer graphics card are mainly for rendering, video editing and gaming, for general pc stuff the onboard gpu would work.

3- for future orders stay away from middle-east sellers for components, they tend to be fake in my experience, some better than others and some legit, but better off just ordering from EU, and try sites like Gearbest.com and novatech generally decent deals and offers at times

It will use memory from your RAM. As said before you aren't ripped off. You just bought a bad card.
