As stated by the thread tite. I've just received this new card today and I have installed all the drivers. But my graphics card fan sounds like its going at 100% but when I check EVGA Precision, it says its going at 44. I can't adjust the speed of this also because when I set it to 25 and click apply, it just jumps back to 44..

The fan speed is pretty loud and its consistently running. Its 10 times louder than my old graphics card.

Any help would be great thanks..

You will get used to it. If you think your card is loud, you should try a reference HD4870 at 80% -100% fan speed. And I sleep in the room with the PC on :D.
BTW, there are applications like RivaTuner that allow you to manually set profiles for fan speed. I don't exactly remember the nVidia Control Panel, but even that setting can be made to remain at the manual setting.

Yep but like I said, it goes back to 44 whenever I try to change it.
I maybe mistaken but 44 does seem a bit high for just general browsing, etc. Probably be able to get away with gaming at 25. I can even feel the cool air from the graphics card from where I'm sitting lol ...

I googled my problem before hand and it said something about "flashing bios"? Than I'll be able to adjust my fan speed....

hm 64% fan speed and GPU temp 58 C. Is the temperature high or low?

Whenever I start my PC the fan don't throttle up as soon as I turn on the PC, and then spins down once windows is loaded. It just throttles up and stays high.

The temperature is ok. Even 80C is ok.
So your fan is running at high speed from the moment you start the PC? From your posts I think the fan is on automatic all the time. Have you tried RivaTuner for fan speed adjustments?

As I said in my earlier post. Even 80C under load is fine. Don't be afraid to put the card on lower ventilation. And when browsing the net you can go lower with the fan speed because the card is not utilized enough to create high temperatures.
The jump from 9600GT to GTS250 should be really big in performance and I think you saw that in games.

I'm not afraid. It won't go below 40. I put it on 25 and click apply and it jumps to 40 again. It does this to Rivatuner and EVGA Precision

Do you have the lastest nVidia drivers installed for your system?

196.21 ..

Anyway, I got it down to 25% now. (Enable low level fan control, fixed 25% duty cycles)
Still a bit loud but what can I do. Ill just monitor the temperature while playing games, making sure it don't get too high.

Thanks :)
