ASUS GTX 1060 - Fan Broke, Help!

Hey all, first post, long time lurker.

I was installing an Asus 1060, 3gb, Dual Fan GPU (the one with the white case), and I accidentally put pressure on a fan blade. Yes, it broke off . So now a piece is inside. When the fans ramp up, the whole card is now shaking. I'm really P*** off at myself. Anyway, I need some help sourcing another fan, a matching one, quickly. Please help!

I dont think fans are sold to replace the ones that came with the GPU

You could unplug the broken fan and see if it stays cool enough with a single fan. Many of the 1060s only have a single fan.1

1. Try to see if running with single fan works
2. Go on ebay and try to find a fan that fits
3. Get an aftermarket cooler

I know this might sound a bit rough, but you could balance the fan by remove a blade opposite the broken one.....only remove the same amount as what's missing from the broken one, it's all about getting it balanced.

i always join the clubs there when i get a new video card. The GTX1070 club i joined last year has 907 pages (9070 posts).

Shouldnt be a huge problem, what size is the fan? you can get replacements.

Great ideas. TY. Pulling card today, will remove broken piece and run on 1 fan for now. I'll also measure.

Question ... so stock fans, white plastic cover, etc get's removed, and this goes in place with thermal compound, correct? Do the new fans plug into the gpu or mobo? Just worried that this might add additional thickness.

Hi,
I recently had a 1070 strix that I broke the fan blade on. It was under warranty and Asus wouldn't do anything to help, so I just ordered a new fan on Alibaba express and it looks like the original fan, down to the stickers. Installation is pretty easy, but it's different depending on what fan broke. Each of the three fans takes a different cable so I'd imagine it's the same with the duel. There should be a 'a' and a 'b' fan, find out which one needs to be re placed and order it on Alibaba or eBay, I think they use the same fans on strix and duel.
