hey guys,my GPU has coilwhine, yes ive already replaced this card with another from the store... still coilwhine.. i was playing wow while running another program that took alot of cpu power, wich made the coilwhine worse?, i killed the process and now the coilwhine is now gone, so im wondering is it my cpu causing the coilwhine, when its at load?

do i need to buy a new cpu? i got a i5 4460..

Thank you guys here, my first post.

Ending Valley benchmark, I get like 7000fps for a short while on the credits screen and really loud coil whine and when I compare that with the benchmark running at 60fps vs 120fps (ofcourse at different graphics settings), the coil whine difference isn't that much. I have a ceiling fan that covers that much noise xD

Lowering fps from 130 or 120 to anything less, isn't worth the reduction in coil whine because it'll be minimal. If you're willing to reduce a little bit coil whine for a little bit FPS loss.... sure, go ahead. Personally, I don't think it's worth the FPS loss.
CPU causing coil whine? I doubt that.

From experience, most of the coil whine I heard is when something's running at very high framerates.

Some discussions said that high framerates also mean high CPU load, but I don't think that the CPU has anything to do with coil whine.

As an example, if you run Unigine Valley benchmark, it's normal. But upon exit, the credits screen stays for a few seconds at over 1000fps and causes a sharp coil whine. Try it yourself.

Anyway, coil whine is quite normal. You can do a quick youtube search for coil whine and see some videos and or explanations.

yeah... coilwhine is pretty normal i know. but its pretty annoying.

i play World of Warcraft 130 fps, got i capped at that because i 120hz 1080p monitor.
should i try lowering the fps cap? wil try running the Unigine Valley benchmark.

Thanks for answering me. Appreciate it!:)
