I recently bought this graphics card, and tried out Need for Speed Rivals.
Managed to set everything to ultra, the problem were the fans.
They were in the 0 decibel mode, when idle they achieve around 30C, but when playing, even after getting to 60C the fans still didn't turn on. How can I fix this?

Solution
I believe that you have gotten a GTX 970 STRIX Edition Correct?
If so, the hardware is literally built that the fans won't turn on until the temperature of the GPU reaches a certain point (Most likely Mid 60 to low 70 Celsius)
It's perfectly natural, and it is fine.

Unless you want the fan to turn all the time, for that you might need to download some programs ({Ex. MSI Afterburner) to do it.

Hope it helped!

Good Luck!

Okay, I'm a bit relieved then.
But by the way, my idle temps are around 30C, so what would you say are good full load temps? Not something like stress tests, but demanding games?

EDIT: And yes, it's a Strix edition.

Definitely then it is not a problem. For your second question, I say when full load temperatures will be around mid 60 because new Maxwell Graphics Cards are surprisingly cool.
Heck, my GTX 780 Direct CU II runs at 55 Celsius when full load.

Download the ASUS Gpu Tweak and you can set it from there when to turn on the fans and lots of other stuff. If it's not working from there you have a technical problem and you should send back the card and get a new one.
