I just bought the Asus GTX 980 Ti Matrix from Amazon.co.jp and I'm encountering the following problems:
Right now Amazon.co.jp is refusing to provide a replacement until I get confirmation from Asus that my problem is a manufacture defect. Asus came back to me and pretty much told me to contact Tekwind (who made the GTX 980 Ti Matrix) and so now I'm waiting to hear back from them. Quite frustrating.
In the mean time, has anyone else come across this problem? Any suggestions on fixing this without getting a replacement?
■ Windows 10 loads to login screen, fans jump to max speed and it's ridiculously loud
■ Temperature sensor shows 28 C
■ RPM sensor shows 0 RPM
■ Remains like this until shut down
■ I can play games with it but the card is way too loud
■ Boot into safe mode -> GPU is quiet
■ Used Display Driver Uninstaller to remove NVIDIA drivers
■ Windows 10 boots up again, GPU still quiet (no driver installed)
■ Installed latest NVIDIA drivers, as soon as screen flickers during installation, fans are spinning at max
■ Used ASUS GPU TweakII to adjust fan speed -> tool believes fan is already at 0 RPM, any adjustment showed no change
■ Updated motherboard's bios -> same problems still exist
■ Inspected the card -> there are no loose fan cables or anything obstructing the fans
■ Reverted back to my old gtx 780 -> no problems, didn't even have to reinstall drivers
