My question is simple. Will a Asus gtx dual 1070 8gb graphics card bottleneck with a AMD Ryzen 7 2700x CPU?
My CPU, motherboard and ram needs an upgrade so suggestions for those are welcome as well.
Current setup is with the dual 1070 8gb as I mentioned with an
fx 9590 cpu (not OC:ed),
Crosshair v Formula-z mobo,
ram ddr3 hyperx fury 16gb (if I switch processor and mobo I need to switch to an ddr4 ram),
a 950w psu,
corsair h100i v2 liquid cooler.

Solution
Depends on settings, if you're playing on 1080p low then yeah, but so would an 8700k. Any settings (in most games) at 1080p high-ish or more graphics intensive you should be pretty well balanced. There should be no reason to worry about pairing a GTX 1070 with a 2700X, sounds like a great match and the experience should be a lot better than that space heater of a chip you currently have.

Well it would probably be high/ultra settings or whatever highest possible it can handle with a decent fps and then I was also planning on getting a 1ms 144hz QLED monitor. Thanks for your answer.
Also any suggestions for the motherboard for the 2700x?

Depends on your budget and form factor. I'm assuming atx, but for budget probably the MSI b450 tomahawk, if you want integrated wifi, the Gigabyte aorus b450 pro wifi is nice, if you plan on doing more than just basic overclocking the MSI gaming pro carbon b450 board is really nice, and if you want to go high end then there are a ton of good X470 boards to choose from. I feel like the gaming pro carbon is the best value tbh, but the tomahawk is nice too.

Thanks for your answers, also the aorus b450 is a mitx.
One more question before I close this thread. I am planning on upgrading my case as well to the Fractal Define R6 TG but I was wondering if it would get too hot with my current setup (fx-9590, h100i v2 liquid cooler etc.) in it?

Oh, thanks for your answers.
Regarding the motherboards however again, why the pro b450? When the MSI x370 gaming pro carbon is not only cheaper but is better, from what i've discovered atleast.

Prices vary, if the x370 pro carbon is on sale for less than the pro b450 where you are then maybe it's a good buy. You can't expect perfect suggestions for all this... we don't know where you live or what prices where you live are, I'm just listing off tiers of products assuming that the lower tier product will be cheaper. Keep in mind that if the X370 mobos are older stock, they might not support a 2700X out of the box and you could need someone with a first gen chip to update the BIOS before you can use it. Also, memory compatibility is expected to be better with the newer products, but I would expect MSI to have quality support for a product like the X370 pro, so it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Alright, thanks for your answers and your patience with me. Thanks for all the help
