Asus GTX680 4GB vs Asus HD 7970 GHZ 3GB for 2560x1440 Gaming

What is your opinion on these two graphics card, Which would be better for 2560x1440, I can get them both for the same price, $450. Gaming only, nothing else. Wont be Overclocking.

RIVF
i7-3820
1200 watt PSU
27" 2560x1440 monitor

Further down the road i will be adding 2 more monitors so i will be needing SLI/Crossfire

The 7970. It does a much better job at higher res. But if your going to do what you say down the road either or. I really don't have much of a driver issue with my 7970s but of course drivers are not as good as the green team.
