Asus GTX970 Turbo vs MSI GTX970

I found comparisons between Asus 970 and MSI 970 and would choose MSI but does the Turbo have anything that makes it more worthwhile? I can get them at the same price.

Are you comparing it to the MSI 4G Gaming version? The MSI card has a slightly higher clock speed and the cooler should be better than the blower style cooler on the ASUS assuming you case has decent airflow.

It seems to me the Asus card has a very slight upper hand, but I am a newbie, so I might be wrong.

Would the cooling be the deciding factor here?

I haven't seen a review of that MSI card, but the review of the of the 960 with the ASUS cooler showed that it ran hot an loud. Are the cards with open air coolers not an option?

I couldn't help noticing that this one has 2 connectors, a 6 pin and an 8 pin.

My psu, Aerocool Strike-X 600W Bronze Modular has 2 PCI-E's, so I assume I have to use two cables, one for the 6 pin and another with a 6+2, right?

Correct, you would need to connect the 6 pin and the 8 pin to the card.
