My old motherboard pciE slot gave up on me. So i decided to upgrade my processor and downgrade my mobo since there were not allot of options for lga1155 chipsets at my side. So i ended up buying a core i5 3570k with an Asus H61M-k motherboard. I went for this motherboard since it was good for the price, has good warranty like 3 years (others only had an year) and found out that it had memory overclocking support up to 2200mhz. So i went for it. I finally bought 2 4gb sticks of 1866mhz hyper X kingston memory. But when i went to the bios and tried to overclock. Every time i would set the clock frequency and reset my screen would be blank and then i would turn off and on again it tell me OC failed. Its not even running on 1866mhz but its set to 1600mhz. I also changed the time speeds and upgraded my bios to the latest but still its not overclocking. Can anyone help me. Also i am a some what new to overclocking though i have studied about it. So yeah waiting for help.

You're right. This is an older entry level board, not really meant nor intended for overclocking, and as such the BIOS options are limited. I'm assuming the DRAM voltage is auto configured, unless there are options listed under the DRAM timing control menu. This is pretty unusual as DDR3 voltage adjustments are pretty standard fare, but as you say, I don't see an option either.

I'd also go into the DRAM timing control menu and make sure the module settings match those listed for your modules.

Thank you for the reply mate. There is another problem I also can't increase or play with the voltages since it doesn't show me the option (forgot to add this in the previous post). Searched the whole bios but no results and sure let me add more details relating my components.

Motherboard: H61M-K
Part no: 90MB0FP0-M0UCYO

Ram: Kingston Hyper X fury Blue 1866mhz
Part No: HX318C10F/4
[here is a pdf file of the ram itself that includes more details

Yeah i downloaded that memorybenchmark software and like it gave me all the details relating my memory. So much stuff to change now T-T I hope it works after i am done with it. Or else ima be really mad! lol But thanks again for the reply man :)
