Hi,

Recently I found an old H81 motherboard and I tried to build a PC with it. When I boot it up, I hear a short beep from the buzzer, which usually mean it booted successfully. However the screen didn't show anything and I heard 1 long beep, 4 short beeps and 1 long beep from the buzzer, my RAM and CPU are completely working normally!

I googled it but nothing could be found!

Thanks in advance!

Solution

so which CPU model is it ?

If it´s a haswell refresh, the BIOS version of the motherboard might be too old and has to be updated before using a haswell refresh CPU. To do so you will need a BIOS compatible older CPU.

Or the motherboard´s CPU socket is faulty, maybe broken or bent or discolored pins

or no CPU fan is plugged in/is not spinning/not working correctly

EDIT:
reset the BIOS by jumper (clearCMOS)
