If you insert and let the installation DVD that comes with the motherboard autorun, it will automatically install the "Asus COM" service and this will get recognized as a "AMDA000" interface.
Thanks for the reply! If I use autorun, is it going to install other things that I may not want?
When I insert the CD, nothing happens, but it asks me if I want to run ASSETUP.exe which I choose and then it loads and goes to the menu which lists all the drivers and apps for me to choose from to install.

Hello,
I've ran into the same issue here. Unkown device ACPI\PNP0A0A. I've installed all known utility drivers from asus to no avail. I do not have an optical drive and can not use driver CD. Any help with this issue?
Just ran into the same problem on an Asus Z97I-Plus. Had to install this driver from support.asus.com to correctly recognize the device.
ASUS Probe II Sense Driver 1.0.1.0 for Windows Win7 32bit & Win7 64bit & Win8 32bit & Win8 64bit & Win8.1 32bit & Win8.1 64bit---(WHQL).
I have downloaded and installed all drivers I could possibly try, Windows is up to date as well. So far I have no issues with my machine so ive learned to just except the unknown device =[[

+1 for this on my Asus H97-Plus.
I installed the chipset and lan drivers, then let Win7x64 run all updates, and still had this same single unknown device in device manager. Launched the driver CD, clicked only on ASUS Probe II Sense which was a 3 second install, and done. Device installed, no extra junk got installed.
On the DVD it is easy - in device manager:
1. Right-click the unknown device with the hardware ID PNP0A0A choose to update drivers
2. On the update driver screen choose "Browse my computer..."
3. Browse to the drive with the DVD (or mounted ISO image), on my PC the path is E:\Drivers\AMDA00
4. Hit "Next" and let Windows do its thing.
BTRIP Has the solution to install this securely and quickly
For those who have an Asus Motherboard Support CD and are wary of downloading files from unknown sources here’s an optional method to find and install the AMDA00 driver for the Unknown device - ACPI.
1. Go to Device manager.
2. Double click the unknown device. This will take you to the Properties page.
3. Click Update Driver
4. Choose the 2nd option “Browse my computer for driver software".
5. Browse to your Motherboard Support CD (sometimes only the drive letter will appear; X:\)
6. Click Next, search will find the Driver on the MB Support CD and install it.
I used this method for my Z87 Plus board. And for others who have an Asus MB.
Thank you so much BTrip for solving an issue that was about to make me rip out my entire flip side on my dual boot.
