Hi folks. I bought a brand new ASUS K31ADE desktop computer this afternoon and I'm having trouble connecting it to my LCD monitor (AOC model no. N19W) - the monitor just gives me a "no signal" message and then goes into sleep mode. The VGA cable I am using definitely works, as I have tested it on my previous PC (also as ASUS but can't remember the model number off the top of my head). I checked the settings menu while the monitor was plugged in to the old PC and there doesn't seem to be any kind of input setting that I can see.
I have also tried to connect the new PC via HDMI, although my monitor does not have an HDMI input so I tested thus by trying to connect to two different TV sets. No luck here either, although I'm not sure if I would normally need to set the TV up to receive a signal from a PC?
Thinking ahead, if I can't solve this issue tonight (the customer service line is now closed until 9am tomorrow), the new ASUS is currently switched on as I'm not sure if it's OK to turn it off. Due to the monitor issue I haven't been able to see what it's doing, but I'm assuming it will be waiting to create a recovery disc. Can I harm the computer in any way if I switch it off manually at this stage?
Thanks in advance for any help or advice you might be able to offer, it really would be very much appreciated!
