Hi,

I want to add aditional 8GB DDR3L RAM as that is what the laptop supports. However I am not sure for what speed should I go for. The support told me 1600Mhz (I didnt ask specifically for MhZ though).
As it is Skylake CPU, so it seems funny RAM support would go up to 1600mhz. So does anyone more tech savvy knows what the chipset supports and what not, so I know what I should go for?

Also I saw Cruical is mostly available here, is it better than Kingston? There is also some "Hyper" firm offering CL9 1600Mhz RAM (other normal ones have CL11). The faster Cruical 1866MHz has CL13.

So what is the most optimal upgrade?

Thank you!!

Hey,
Thank you! I checked that website before and it gives compatibility for higher frequency. I talked to them as well and the thing is chipset of this laptop model doesn't support higher frequencies of ram so 1600MHz is highest. Of course you can put higher frequencies in, but it will run on 1600MHz.
So I went for that and Kingston HyperX option as it has CL9, as most other has slower latency.

Just wanted to share if anyone else will have the same question
