ASUS K55VM control fan speed

Hi,
I have this notebook and I have question for you.
It is normal to have 2000 RPM and temperature 30 °C when I am not doing anything? I would like to know that everything is ok.

2000 RPM is a normal fan speed. 30C is cool for a laptop CPU. Now, if your fan is supposed to be at that RPM at that temp, I can't say.

The problem is that the fan starts to hum, hum amplified and then suddenly stops humming. I do not get it

That could just be dust, or the fan wearing out. The bearing might need to warm up before it gets quiet, or dust on the blades might be causing it to take longer to ramp up to full speed and making it uneven. Replacing the fan should not be too difficult, but I am not a laptop tech.
